2013 to 2014 Face Lift Headlight Install

maybe the older assembly weren't aimed correctly? The new one probably looks brighter to you because they're aimed better. i use my brights a lot in rural areas and the older unit keeps the low beams on as a fill in and they have more output. The newer assembly shuts the low beams off when the...

2013 to 2014 Face Lift Headlight Install

no it had xenons already, but the bulbs were like 10 year old. The brights are halogens which i'm sure you know, i didn't swap those. i guess the output degrades overtime with the xenon bulbs. With new xenon bulbs in, it was a huge difference. i also adjusted/aimed the headlights for the first...

2013 to 2014 Face Lift Headlight Install

I think the 10-13 headlights are better than the newer headlights. Light output is way better. I drove both a 2011 and a 2015 and the 2011 is way better. I swapped in some new xenons in the 2011 housing and man on man they light up down two nyc blocks.

When is it time to say goodbye?

I’m about to give you the raw answer here. Its a Land Rover. We all own one knowing it costs a lot to fill up at the tank. We know it costs a lot to maintain. It’s really a vehicle that makes the owner happy driving it no matter what. Even the owners that has hell with these vehicles will always...

Dealer does not recommend changing transmission filter...ever?

Others and maybe yourself may try and not to bash the dealer and its service tech, but they know its lifetime sealed for the lifetime of the transmission which is roughly 150k. I personally would have been offended by them and schooled their ass. They just want the tranny to go caput and have...

    LED Projector Puddle Lamps

Hey folks, can anyone post a link for a reliable set of these door courtesy lights? I seem to go through them every couple months. They just don't last as long. They're so cheap on amazon/ebay. I'd much rather spend my money on some quality ones or just cheap ones that you guys have had luck...

    P2118 Reduced performance

Did you manually move the throttle plate with your fingers? I heard that messes them up. I'm hoping that's not the case with yours man. I would start simple and let the truck sit overnight with the negative cable off. It should work itself out in the morning. I've done that countless times for...

part numbers - updated crossover pipes?

Before installing my pipes I coated them with a light coat of plastic epoxy....esp in the places where they "join". I don't think they'd ever fail on me again. The damn thing is like concrete now.

    Hello from Long Island

Hey buddy I'm located in Fresh Meadows, exit 25 off the 495. Let me know if you ever need work done on your rig. I know an ex glen cove land rover mechanic who does work in his backyard now. He charges a fraction of what an Indy would even charge.

    New LR4 Owner

So usually upon removal does it crumble due to heating/cooling stressing of the pipes. It usually fails around the O rings at the tip of the pipes. I was driving along on a hot summer day in Manhattan and all of a sudden I smelt the sweet smell of coolant. This was around 98k miles. The temp...

    New member introduction.

Well honestly the only thing in my mind that I would be worried about on a trip such as that is a leaking air strut/worn compressor and the coolant crossover pipes. Also make sure your alternator is charging above 13 volts. Anything else that could fail during a trip is manageable to an extent I...

    New LR4 Owner

With 32 inches you'd still get rub at the frame honestly. Will you be going with 18 inch rims and fitting all terrain tires? If so I'd stick with 31.6" being the most you'd fit under there with no rubbing and mods to the suspension. 265/65/18 or 285/60/18 would be the only two options honestly...

    Spark Plug Gapping

Hey everyone, Has anyone tried gapping their plugs to .50? I know factory is 0.40 for our engines. I know that a smaller gap tends to yield plugs that last longer at the cost of power and a larger gap gives more power at the cost of plug life. I don't really care about the plugs lasting...

Where does a failing front crossover leak?

Its impossible to know honestly. It leaks in the valley under the manifold and when its finally noticeable to our eyes it soaks the the thermostat/water pump valley. Thats why if you do one of thise items, you must do all three. Including the rear crossover. Obviously if you just did the water...
