LR5 Release Updates?
I agree, I actually hated the LR3 when I first saw it, now I love it. I hated the new Range Rover when I saw it, now I love it. I think it takes time to adjust to the new body styling. Additionally, I think the details will change as the model ages, I can already see it getting some sharper...- Jerbo

LR5 Release Updates?
Should still be working once engine temp is normal, might be broken. There is a separate thread discussing how most of them are broken, not that we are complaining. Mine stopped working about 3 months ago... probably the only time during LR ownership when I have been pleased something broke!- Jerbo

Intelligent Start/Stop MIA
If it is broken that pesters me because now I want to fix it ... I wonder if there is a way to reverse the wiring and have the Amber light display when the system is turned ON, not off... that would solve most of my problems. -

I think it is just the rear spoiler messing with your eyes. IMOP powered lift gate is right up there with eco start stop in terms of utterly annoying. ...... almost as bad as rear windows that roll all the way down.- Jerbo

Intelligent Start/Stop MIA
Mine seemed to have stopped as well MY2016, granted we usually keep the heater or AC on which I know tends to keep it from turning off. Again, not complaining because it is actually the worst thing in the world. -

LR4 Offroad Performance WITHOUT Heavey Duty Package
So from the last couple posts, for my use where I am not doing any real rock crawling or teetering HD package may not be an issue, investment in better tires and recovery gear seems like a more plausible and overall more effective solution. thanks for the replies. -

New LR4 with HD Package
I am looking at an Aruba colored vehicle, not a bad color, however would not be my first choice. HD package isn't required for me in the cars current capacity, however I do see me building out the vehicle in 3-5 years to be more trail dedicated. Need to wait and see what the dealer comes back... -

I am thinking about getting a MY17 ordered, the window issue is a very real issue for me as it drives me crazy as a passenger in the rear. I am trying to visualize it with the correct tires and a low profile roof rack and it is starting to come together. I wonder if it will include a OEM winch...- Jerbo

With out having driven or sat in one at this point. I would actually be very much ok with this. The only objection I would raise would be given the sophistication of the Disco 5, the Defender is going to lose its ability to be repaired quickly in the field. However .... I don't think JLR is... -

Check Mark for answering the question. However for 5-8k, I would probably pick up an LR3 with HD and make it a dedicated off road rig, then keep my current LR4 for lighter trips. Also, I would look into a winch, slow to recover, but I could recover none the less. Cheers for the answer. -

You can "fake" low range if you use the sport mode + paddle shifters, If you are really worried, look into some recovery gear like max trax. I would let the community back this up, but even with the most capable rig, crap tires are going to lead to a bad time. Invest there, try it out in a... -
