    Once things start happening though, LOOK OUT. The ONE thing these things do best is disappoint. Could they build a better vehicle? Of course. Are they using inferior materials (rubber and plastic components, primarily)? Definitely. Look at your key fobs. It's the same crap under the hood.

    Agreed. There are maintenance schedules and then maintenance schedules under "severe" conditions. Those severe conditions are - A. stop & go traffic - B. extreme hot & cold - C. dusty & muddy conditions - D. poor road conditions

    @double 0 - @Troy Angrignon The fuel pump is in the fuel tank and designed to be cooled by the fuel. No fuel in the tank, pump gets hotter than should be.

    As a Service Writer for a Land Rover/ Jaguar Indy, I can honestly say the customers we rarely see are the ones who follow the 3 rules of owning a Land Rover. 1. Never let the gas get below 1/4 tank. 2. Service Intervals of 5,000 - 7,000 miles 3. Never let the vehicle overheat

    Any Dash Cams you particularly like for being inconspicuous / ease of install?

    I use a system I found on Amazon for around $250. It came with a DVR that stores in my glovebox (or wherever I wanted it) and 2 cameras that had about 12' of cable each. The cameras are about 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". Never had an issue with it, has saved my butt a few times.

    As a Service Writer (not at a dealership), I can confirm there are different part numbers for the exact same part used in Jags and Landys. The prices differ as well. We always cross reference the parts to make sure we are buying the cheaper of the parts.

    Standard Land Rover service intervals. Engine has 2 quarts of oil in it. Had overheated pretty bad. Timing chains, tensioners and rollers were all just one big chunk of metal. Head was possibly cracked.

    I'm a service writer at an independent LR shop - most expensive repair I've been involved with is an engine swap in a 2014 Range Rover Sport. $15,516 in parts $5,957 in labor and we are still counting. 5-7K mile service intervals are important and cost effective.

    I work at a LR shop and see the alternator being affected by oil leaking in the engine bay. One of the warnings we pass along to customers when they say they can live with a small leak.

    Is it dangerous to drive with these warnings?

    Did those codes show up after you got the tow from one shop to another? Is this when the steering wheel went wonky? Steering wheels off center can be suspension issues or not getting centered during an alignment.
