What year is your disco? I believe the EPA mandates a 10 year warrenty on ALL emisions equipment on vehicles. Not to sure about it, but it might be something to consider looking into. A stealer would have to replace the cats if defective. -

Don't know what to do, weird putt putting kinda sound and vibration
I'm not an expert but I would make a minimum 91 oct. a regular thing. If it is carbon, it will come back after you blow it out if you keep running 87. By running the recomended fuel it will only improve things and keep it running better and longer and more than likely less headaches even... -

Same thing happened to me twice now. Mine is an '04 DII. Both times I got mine started but It still gives you the sunken gut I'm stranded feeling....:argh: -

type of gas you all are using on your disco?
I use a minimum of 91 Oct. LR's are know to be...well, ya know.....so I don't go looking for excuses for the LR to have a hissy fit. -

I kinda thought it would reak havoc with the seals but I never overfilled and engine with oil before (I felt like a rookie all over again). When I change my oil I overfilled by about a quarter to a half quart at the most. I drained out the overfill the following day and got it back to the... -

Well, I called the dealership so I'm off to them to get the PS/ACE fluid. It's 11 bucks....probably for a pint of fluid. I'm learning really fast that LR's are a love hate relationship...Geezzzzz -

Oil Leak
I change my oil on saturday and now I have a pretty good oil leak somewhere on the front of the engine. I did not over fill the oil and the drain plug and filter are dry and tight. I can't see that I did anything wrong. It never leaked any fluid until I did the oil change. I'm at a loss... -

I need to add steering/ACE fluid and the owners manual recommends Texaco Cold Climate PSF 14315. I can't find that brand of fluid so is there another compatable brand/type that I can use? -

Discovery Problems :(
I can actually push about 300 out of a tank in my Disco but that is about the maximum. I try not to let her run below an 1/8 of a tank because you then run a chance of sucking dirt from the tank into the fuel system thus clogging up your fuel filter or worse yet getting a clogged injecter(s). -

I also have an '04 Disco S (51K) and have the same exact things you have. 1.) Exhaust vibration might be loose cat guts or a heat shield. Start the truck, let it idle, chock the wheels and apply the ebrake (a rolling truck with you under it would F-up your day) and crawl uner the truck... -

Running lights?
Bad bulb, bad ground, corroded terminal, loose wire....take yer pick. The only way to diagnos the problem is to pull the lens and check er' out. Sorry for the short answer but there are alot of reasons for non working lights. -

Rough idle/stumble
My 04 Disco does the same thing. Seems to have a little stumble or miss between 35 and 45 MPH when held at a steady speed. Get it below 35 or above 45 and it runs great. It doesn't run that bad between 35 and 45 but you can feel it hesitating. 04 Disco II w/50K -

If you took it off road, why are you stressing over a 3 inch scratch? If your worried about scratches that small you should keep her on the road. Trail riding is not ding or scratch proof..... I'm just making an observation and mean no disrespect.
