2000 Disco in lockdown mode

This is happened before and went through routine of using the key and lock/unlock 3x. It worked before and now does not. The key won't turn, the steering wheel is locked, and the alarm light blinks. I pulled the negative battery terminal to see if it will reset and then do the lock/unlock procedure. Nothing. Now sitting in a parking lot at Subway needing to be towed. Any other suggestions on this issue? Locks and lights work fine, just seems like it is stuck in stolen mode and the key will not budge.

Same thing happened to me twice now. Mine is an '04 DII. Both times I got mine started but It still gives you the sunken gut I'm stranded feeling....
