2006 LR3 HSE: Replacing Front Lower Control Arms

I must have been lucky because a friend and I R&R’d the lower control arms on my 06 LR3 in a couple hours...about 45 minutes per side. Fortunately none of the bolts were seized so we didn’t need to cut or heat anything. My friend is a mechanic for a living so he didn’t spend much time trying...

    LR4 Wont turn over

Before you do all that, why not just remove & replace the starter? It’s not a difficult DIY at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    LR4 Wont turn over

I’m no expert but it sounds like it could be the starter. When the starter in my LR3 went bad, I wouldn’t get anything. No click or nothing. Replacing the starter is a pretty easy DIY and the part wasn’t that expensive if I recall correctly.

Rear Sounder - Parking Aid Sensor Issue

I paid $26 at the dealer and felt like that was the singular time that I ever walked away from a dealership not feeling like a victim. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rear Sounder - Parking Aid Sensor Issue

Actually, the speaker can be purchased cheaply from the dealer. First time I've ever purchased something from the dealer that was cheaper than online! (Dealer gave me a 15% military discount)

    Ash Tray Won't Close...

There's another thread on this exact topic somewhere in the forum. You are right. The correct way to fix it is to pull the console to get behind it. Other options will keep it shut but won't fix the problem. One member mentioned that he drove a screw through the inside to keep it closed...

    Help!! Suspension fault

Not difficult to R&R to do yourself. Most difficult issue I had was getting it out of the plastic housing that protects from the elements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Maf & check engine light

Maf & check engine light Before I purchased a MAF, I would have bought a $3.00 can of MAF sensor cleaner. Spray it on and then will I'm in there clean the throttle body with throttle body cleaner (15 minute job). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Any help is appreciated.

Yes. Also, if you put your ear against one of the sensors on the rear bumper, you will hear a faint rapid clicking noise. That tells you that the sensor is actually working but the speaker is kaput (technical term). Very easy to change the speaker and non-time consuming.

    Any help is appreciated.

For the brake lights, does the center brake light (below the roof) come on independent of others? If so, you may have a shorted connection with one of the bulbs or sockets for the bulbs. I recently had an issue where only the middle brake light worked but the tail lights/brake lights...

    Any help is appreciated.

Park assist issue is most likely that product of a bad park assist speaker. $35 part from the dealer and maybe 20-30 minutes DIY remove & replace. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Banging Slipping feel & noise!

Banging Slipping feel & noise! I know this sounds counter intuitive but try cleaning your throttle body. Both of my LR3s would experience the same bang/slip feeling after a short stop at a stop sign (California stop). Once I cleaned the throttle body (and Mass Airflow sensor) the issue...

Brake Switch didnt help, Brake Bulbs didnt help...What Next??

If you have replaced ALL the bulbs, look at the socket connectors. Review for corrosion or loose wires. I had a similar issue. When I checked the bulbs, the filaments where fine but the seat of the bulb had arched and caused an inconsistent connection. As a result I had zero tail lights or...

LR3 window problems and keyless entry problems!!

My key fob is doing the same thing. My research tells me that either I get out a hacksaw and soldering iron for the DIY or fork out +$200 to the dealer. Neither are great options... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Rear Sounder - Parking Aid Sensor Issue

I completed the task of replacing the speaker. Wasn't difficult at all. May have taken about 30-45 minutes of me slowly taking my time. You'll need to remove the screw holding the drivers side rear passenger seat belt. There's also a screw behind a cap that needs to be removed from the...

    Key Fob Battery

Thanks for the reply. Yep, smacking the fob is the only way it works sometimes. Which sounds like it may be more of a lose connection issue than a battery issue. Seems like LR has made things much more difficult than they need to be. Time to get out the hacksaw and soldering iron...

    Key Fob Battery

Hey guys, just checking to see if anyone has been able to replace their key fob battery without going to the stealer. I did a YouTube search a and Google search and can't find anything on how to replace without doing some sodering on the circuit board. Just don't want to shell out $200 for a...
