A ‘96 Disco came up in the local classifieds:
“Not running due to alarm box getting water infiltration.
Ran fine until then.
Bought a refurbished alarm box
But don't know how to program it to the ECU.” They’re asking $600. I’ve owned a few D2s, but never a D1. What would it take to program, or better yet, disable the security system? Assuming the vehicle is otherwise decent, is it worth the risk or do I leave it alone?

Leave it alone, if the spider alarm got wet (it is behind the dash) a lot more issues to come.

Technically yes, but the Spider system integrates into a lot of items and although it can be removed, I have heard mixed results.

Copy that. I haven’t flipped anything in awhile and I’m getting the itch!
