Dear Forums,
I have a 2002 Discovery which is having problems again. Back in Sept, 05 I took it into the dealer and it turns out that I had a faulty coil wire. Below is the exact description from the paperwork:
"45199 Hooked up testbook got P0306, and P0300, Tested coil wire #6, found bad, replaced wire 6 and cleared all faults"
Now, this was when it was still under warrenty. I am now only 600 (50,600 total miles) miles over so my warrenty is now void. Well, it turns out that my Disco is doing the same thing. It is acting the same as it did when I brought it to the dealer. Now, I have not had a chance to get a reader to read the current error codes I am getting now. But, I am assuming that another wire has gone bad and I wanted to just replace all of the plug wires myself. My question is, is this tough? I change plug wires on a few cars in the past, and it wasnt bad.
Now in the description of the plug set, it says this:
http://www.drivewire.com/landroverparts/catalog/landroverdiscoverysparkplugwireset.html
Notes: On Discovery models it may be necessary to remove intake plenum to replace ignition wires, if not wires will appear be too short. ERR 6621 intake plenum gasket will be required. **No Longer supplied w/Ceramic insolators, manufacturer has redesigned the Wire sets no longer requirying Ceramic isolators or guide pieces**
Thanks.
