2006 HSE PDC Question

Just picked up my LR3 a month ago which has the front and rear PDC. When putting the car into drive (without going into reverse) the PDC will turn on and then when I get to about 5 MPH the PDC light on the console will turn off. When I come to a stop PDC will turn back on. I know that PDC should turn on when I go into reverse, but is it supposed to also turn on when going from Park to Drive? Thought I remembered the manual saying that it engages only when put into reverse and then disengages when put into Drive.

I had take the car into the dealer today (got a "Reduced Engine Performance" message on the message display and dealer said to have it towed in and don't drive it) and I asked him about the PDC and they said it should turn on either going into Reverse or Drive.

How is everyone else's PDC behaving?

PDC now turns on when going 5 MPH or less. (The logic was improved late in MY2005. Originally, you had to enter a "full stop" state and many complained it didn't activate. User manuals, as usual from Land Rover, are not perfect.)

2006 LR3's have front AND rear PDC, so of course it activates in Drive and Reverse. Mine does.

Hi - I am new to the Forum. Picked up my LR3 in June and at 2480 miles the Reduced Engine Performance light came on. I drove it 200 miles as I was on a trip away from my home. Called dealer today and said bring it immediately - I could drive it but just to the dealership. What was the outcome of your situation? Major repair? How long was it til you got it back? Ugh I can't believe this is happening

I believe they had to replace a temperature sensor in the cooling system. Appeared to be a fairly easy repair, but since the dealership was busy with repairs and I didn't have an appointment it took them a little over a week to get it fixed and back to me. It's been running fine ever since.
