2010 Ranger Rover HSE Hood issue

Hello I am new to this forum or a forum for that matter. I hope someone can help me with a question regarding the bonnet (hood). The dashboard indicates bonnet is open but it’s securely closed. I cant lock my car because it’s detecting the hood is open. Any idea where I can look under the hood and trouble shoot? Thank you!!!

Hood latch sensor could either be dirty or bad. You can try cleaning, but probably will need replaced. (latch assembly that holds the hood down)

 

[Rover Range]

Hood pin switch is bad.
You will need to replace the hood switch and bracket. Located in front of the battery.
Bracket part # LR018295 .
Hood switch part # YUE000161
