All, I installed the tow package for my 2016 RR (L405) Tdi6. it took me 2hrs in the driveway when the dealer wanted $750-1k to do it. They now claim it needs to be reflashed. Is this true? there is no mode for towing that i can find so why would it need to be reflashed?

When I added my trailer brake controller and the 7-way plug to my 06 LR3 I did have to take it to my local independent LR shop to have a particular tow mode enabled. I believe it was just to tell the system you have installed a trailer brake controller. What happens is that when you connect your trailer to the 7-way or 4-way plug you'll see a trailer icon on you dash (i think it will illuminate only when using the turn signals). My shop did it for free as I'm a loyal repeat customer
