I just got a 95 Classic LWB. it has a 4.2L. The engine is strong, but seems to be running too rich, also after about 20 miles of travel starts running hot. I have changed the thermostat, and checked all hoses. Any help would be appreciated.

Could be a water pump on the way out, or the radiator is just not up to par any more. I would start with a full radiator flush, at the cost of a new one it would be cheaper to try this first.

Also check both your mechanical and electronic cooling fans.

I had the same problem with my 93 classic. It also has the 4.2. After checking all previously stated items, it still got hot. I removed the rubber seal(top and bottom) between the condensor and the radiator and found all manner of collected stuff. Hosed it out real good, and haven't had any troubles since. I hope this might help in your case.
