Hey disco drivers,
went searching on the web for a fuel system schematic to try to work out where to start identifying and fixing my prob and found this place..looks like your'e about to make my job easier. I live in country NSW Aust with zero local mechanical support and have owned a 95 2 door petrol model for a year or so that has just been retired from street use & over the next few years its my plan to have some fun and severely modify it as my 'bush basher'. But for now i just want to get it going.
Was heading home with about 1/4 tank indicating on the guage, guage instantly went to empty and engine cut out. I checked fuel related fuses - they ok, checked fuel cutoff switch - its ok, put more fuel in the tank - no fuel leaks under & it still reads empty, my next check was fuel pump and/or fuel pickup assembly. But i guess i need to know where the pump is located first to do that. hence my web search for the schematic. I am mechanically capable but just not familiar with the disco.
Was wondering if anyone knows of a problem which is connected with such odd fuel guage behavior and just where is that fuel pump anyway?
AR.
