96 discovery + 7 fault codes ???

Hello,
I just purchased a 96 Discovery, 115k mi., at an auction, no history on it, with a buffet of issues...
first off, it appears that there was some sort of fire in the engine compartment near the back of the engine, on the driver side. I can see some melted plastic, such as spark plug wire guides, plastic insulation etc... the actual wires do not seem to be damaged.
It runs very rough, when it decides to start, here are the codes
340, camshaft position sensor
125, coolant temp low side
113, intake airtemp circuit high input
183, fuel temp sensor A circuit high input
118, coolant temp high input
103 mass volume high input
1317 abs fault

is it possible that all of these sensors are messed up at the same time, or is the main computer on the fritz?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

If there was a possible fire, all bets are off as to what is causing the errors, but it sounds like a wiring issue.

The ECU is on the passenger side.

With the errors you have and it wasn't a fire, I would say someone has not properly maintained this vehicle at all, and would say to start with the basics...

All new plugs/wires/air filter/fuel filter/clean the intake/change all the fluids/change all hoses for radiator.

Clean the IAC and TPS and MAF, then we can try to narrow down what is left.

Hmmm? Joey is right on target with these basics and I would add one more - just for safety's sake - check that your grounding is good - from alternator to battery/starter, etc. if that got smoked/corroded, etc. all manner of mayhem will proceed.
