98 Series1 not starting

I just had the most awful time getting to the bottom of it. Mobile mechanic charged me $418 for the labour in replacing the battery in key imobiliser! He reckons that was causing the problem. All you owners beware...check the battery (turns out it was a loose wire off the coil).

I have a 1999 that has failed to start twice in the last 4 months. each time I left a passenger in the front seat and key in innition. After towing on first ocassion it started next day and ran for 4 months flawsley. noe it's happenrd again. this time after checking daily, it started on the third day and several times since. I'll try the battery thing, for this . thanks
