It's a good question, but there are several others also running the Nitto's and they also report very minor rubbing at the same spot under the same conditions. So for this purpose, there is not much difference between the two.

I see that the goodyear wrangler silent armor makes a 265/60/18 which would seem about the most ideal size. I found them on one website for sale but they don't have that size on tire rack. I think I may go that route as opposed to something that rubs. But I've still got plenty of time left on my tires, but I'll keep looking around until then.

nwoods, that is one sick looking LR3 I just got mine 4 days ago & picking out my Christmas wish list for mods. Gotta ask.. How much did the Nitto's run you, as well as painting the Rims black? Looks awesome! So Nitto's are the way to go for a more agressive tread without going to a smaller RIM diameter? Let me know if anyone has a comparison of the stock Goodyear HP's vs. Nitto Terra's with the factory air suspension. Cheers!

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear you went with the powder coat & not paint on the wheels. Did you look at the Toyo Open Country A/T? I was at a tire dealer today saying they would fit the LR3? Anyone know this to be true or false? the only tires as an option for the LR3 on Toyo's site is the is the Proxes S/T which appears to be more of a street tread?

Toyo does have an Open Country A/T 285/60-18, and I believe this is the same
size that Mr. Woods runs on his truck. The two tires are quite similar. But I think
the Nittos are a bit more agressive on the sidewall. Also, if I am not mistaken both
tires are made by the same manufacturer.
