Greetings Fellow Rover Owners. I'm new to Rover World. Glad to be here! I recently purchased a pre-owned 2005 LR3 HSE without the 3rd row. Does anyone know where I can find/buy the 3rd row seats w/ mounting hardware, seat belts, D-Pillar panels and/or airbags? Even if I have to buy one piece at a time.

I've looked at the floor panel under the carpet and the D-pillars for seat belt attachment. The holes are there, all I would need are the pieces/hardware.

Also, the rear audio controls and AC/Heating vents (senseless without the seats IMO) are in place and functional so it appears they can be added. Even though the vehicle is not "equipped" with the hardware from the factory, the "build/body" indicates the capabilities are there.

I know the dealer can't add the seats due to saftey concerns so my thoughts were to find a slavaged LR3 (without damage to the rear, of course) and gather all of the necessary pieces and go from there.

Why not purchase an 06/07 HSE with the 3rd row you ask? $$$$ lol

Any info would be appreciated.

Well, you'd need to contact various vehicle salvage companies. I'm guessing it won't be very easy, due to the lack of volume... this isn't exactly a mainstream vehicle.

The other way would be to convince a current 7-seat owner to let you take apart his vehicle. :)

You could just order all the individual parts from Land Rover (spend a few hours with your parts department), but it won't be cheap and you won't get any help from your service department.

Greetings Grommet! I totally agree with this not be a very "mainstream" vehicle. One of the reasons I chose it over GM/Ford.

I've got my eyes open for salvaged vehicles and I'm sure the 7 seat owners are not going to give up their seats. lol However, if you're out there and you want to sale your 3rd row, contact me. That would be nice <dreaming>. :)

Going to the local parts departments (3 dealers in my area) may be the quickest route. Although it's going to cost me a nice chunk of change.

BTW, I'm looking for the 3rd row seat that are alpaca seats/ebony backing(carpet).

If you hear of anyone selling parts, please let me know.

Thanks for your input.

There is a gentleman (snort - well a dude anyway) here on this forum named LR3inVancouver that is selling his black leather 3rd row seats. Search for his name and send him a Private Message.

Regards,

Nathan

Cool. Hopefully the seats are available.

I've called around to the local dealers here and they're saying if the vehicle didn't come with 3rd row from the factory, the seats can't be added because the floor pans are different. I've looked at my floor pan and all of the holes are there so that makes me wonder.

Can anyone verify if there is a floor pan difference?

Thanks for the info, Nathan.

Cheers!

Nah, your dealers are wrong I think. If you remove the plywood cover over the center section and the molded foam tray of tire jack and stuff, it should be fine. You may need to carpet the area though, and get the accessory that stows the jack in the rear sidewall compartment

Ahh, finally someone who thinks what I'm thinking. I've literally taken the plywood, trim panels, and carpet up. The mounting holes are there. Time will tell.

I'll keep my eyes open for sale signs on 3rd row seats. Likewise, if anyone is selling or knows anyone who's selling 3rd row seats. Let me know.

Thanks again!
