2 months ago i bought a used 2003 DII SE 7. One month later the car began to randomly overheat, i would fill up with coolant multiple times but later on it would at some point overheat.
The worst case scenario possible came true. I havent used the vehicle in a month and was able to take it to the LR dealer and they confirmed for me that cylinder is probably split and that coolant is mixing in the cylinder and that I pretty much need a whole new block.
The car other than needing a new engine is in really good shape, the dealer told me that it appeared as if the head gaskets had recently been done on the car in an attempt to salvage that engine, but most likely the problem persisted as i am now stuck with a dud.
So ask for help please from anyone, as I am a brand new to LR, on what is the best approach to getting a hold of SHORT or LONG BLOCK engine to replace this one, I really hate the fact that i got screwed with this buy, but I am thinking about trying to fix.
where should i look for short blocks as i understand that this may be the best fix according to the LR dealer, or if anyone has any other insight i am all ears any and all help is welcome
thank you
