I'm wondering if I'm going to need to get my "whip" aligned again after I install these new shocks I ordered.

Shouldn't, and even if you did, you could do it yourself... not much involved in aligning a Disco. http://www.sf.hiof.no/~frodehaa/steeringalignment.htm
