Driving my 2000 Discovery home this evening I had three warning lights come on (ABS, Traction Control, Down hill with !). I called the dealer while driving and they tell me it is likely a bud hub. Is there anyway I can confirm this on my own ? How difficult is this to replace? Once arriving home I switched the car off and back on and the lights had cleared could this be an intermittent problem?

Thanks

Peter:

Don't mean to sound like a ****, but try a search of the site for HDC, ABS, TC lights and read up -- a lot of people have been posting here about it, and somewhere in there is a solution

Good luck!

Moose,

Thanks for the push to revisit the search engine. I had previously done an search for ABS but came up empty handed (not realizing that ABS is to short a word or to common a word to search on). I have now gone back and searched on antilock breaks and found the thread that I'm sure you must have been referring too.

Thanks.

Okay, the lights go off when you turn the truck back on. So it's resetting. Sound like my last problem and damn what a bear it was. It can be one of a number of things in the LR ABS system

I've had both, and in my experience they have been:

Solid HDC, TC ABS lights on = Wheel Speed Sensor / HuB assembly
HDC, TC, ABS on @ random = ABS Modulator Fault / Brake System

What I would do is have my truck ran on testbook at the dealer, to confirm what the faults have registered. Then you'll know what has to be done- the hub/wheel speed sensors are not easy to replace.

If your ABS modulator is sending back a 'elect valve stuck / or failure' fault, then refer to my previous posts. There is a Wabco kit to correct this problem and LR will sell it soon :
Kyle, I found out the following, if the failure is shuttle valve related!, there is a repair kit for this available so in this failure case no need to exchange the modulator, this official WABCO kit comes with how to instructions and is available in Europe, you can get this kit from LR or from us, your dealer can install the kit, the WABCO number is 478 407 9262, let me know what you think, Regards, Norman
