On other makes (non-LR), I've not been impressed with the pedal feel of any ceramics, and they generally compromise on braking power / fade resistance. Might not be ideal for towing or mountain use.

But for city driving and keeping your wheels clean, they are GREAT.

I am curious to hear what people think of them on an LR4, for those who have tried them. My stock wheels are painted black so I stuck with OEM Ferodo pads.

I run akebono on my Ridgeline and have them on the rear of the LR4. I have Brembo ceramics on the front and they still dust (%50 of stock) but not as bad. The feel of the Brembos are ok but not great and not as good as stock. Some of the wheel mess is coming from the high carbon rotors.

I replaced mine about 10-15k miles ago and doing great with low dust.

I went with these:

Parts Geek
Akebono Brake Pads:

Rear Pad set (I paid $58.43 but it looks to be $61.43 ATM): https://www.partsgeek.com/ss/?i=1&ssq=EUR1099B+Akebono
Front Pad set (I paid $83.98 but it looks to be $80.43 ATM):
Zimmermann Coated Rotors:

Rear Rotors bought two (I paid $81.58x2 but it looks to be $86.58x2 ATM): Front Rotors bought two (I paid $68.58x2 but it looks to be $71.58x2 ATM):

So Total I paid:
$58.43+$83.98+$163.16+$137.16=$442.73

Shipping was $37.10
Insurance was $6.95
Tax was $42.77

Total was $514.55

Hope this helps

For DIY mechanics, check out FCP Euro with lifetime warranty on all parts, including brake pads & rotors. You only pay return shipping when they wear out.

I'm not a fan of the PartsGeek website or search capabilities but I have bought items from them in the past, that I could not find elsewhere. I usually buy from FCP Euro or RM European. Check them out next time you're shopping.
