Buying a used LR3... What to look for?

I am new to the forum. I am trying to get into my 1st LR3. I am looking at a 2005 HSE with 24,000 miles OR a couple of 2006 SE's with similar miles. One with Nav and one without. What should I look for? What do I need to watch out for? is 06 better then 05?
Any advice would be great. Thanks for taking the time I cant wait to get behind the wheel.

They have worked out the bugs for the 05. Get a Carfax report you can call the dealer where it was serviced and they should give you specifics on what was done. They did that for me. I would also get an extended warrantee. Follow your gut just like any used vehicle their are good ones and bad ones. Had a friend who had the exact same truck as me year ect. he had a ton of problems I had no problems. Do your homework.

I have an '05 HSE and have had no problems with it. I have had a number of items fixed under warranty, items that were discussed here on the forum or on the disco3.uk forum. What I would look out for if the warranty is coming up is front bushes and steering rack. My '05 developed a steering clunk/knock and I had the dealer service it under warranty fixing the above parts. Now it drives like a new vehicle - no knock/clunk. Also, a common fix is that the early LR3's had issues with steering wheel wear - cheap leather. Dealer will also fix this under warranty as well. Good luck!
