I can attest to the cats disintegrating. Just replaced my cats with Magnaflow cats and a Borla Cat-Back exhaust system.

Got the Magnacore wires and Bosch Platinum 4+s at home, waiting for the weekend to install them.

Hopefully my engine stalling problem will disappear with this.

Boy aren't you going to be in for a pleasant surprise this weekend. Onee thingyou want to do after install them is a number of full throttle run ups to blow out some of the old crud you have picked up over time. Might even consider a can of SeaFoam.
Let me know how it goes.

Follow-up

Just to let everyone know - I received the catalytic converter in 3 days from completeexhaust.com ($65) - took it to the local muffler shop and they were able to install it in about 1 hour, cost $125.00. The truck runs the same and I have not seen the CEL as of yet. thanks Mike for the tip on where to get the catalytic converter- it saved me a ton!! Bill
