Newbie with lr3 for less than a week. I seem to notice when I am listening to the radio I occassionally hear the cd changer changing discs, like it is continually playing the cd, even though the radio is on. Anyone else notice this? I don't see a stop button.

I don't have rear stereo controls in my LR3, but I understand that if you have them, the cd player may be in use by the rear controls.

Ah, thanks, you are right. I have the audio controls in back and they can listen to the cd while I listen to the radio, so I guess the cd continuously spins/plays even if you are the only one in the car listening to the radio.

I had an Infotainment software update applied (around last December) and that cured this problem. The rear controls now default to "off" every time the car is started.

Hey, thanks jackmac. I'll have to ask the dealer about that update. I also have a 05 lr3 hse. So after the update, how do the rear controls turn "on", just by hitting a contol button or something?

Yes, one of those buttons on the rear passenger controls turns the headset and controls on/off. I don't have the vehicle or manual with me, but I'm sure the manual will explain.

By the way, you can turn your CD off - just plug in a headset to each of the rear jacks, find out any that are on, and turn them off. This will stop your immediate problem with the CD playing/exchanging CD's.

ps - my dealer didn't have a clue about the software update or that it cured the problem. I just asked them to apply the latest Infotainment software/firmware update, and it worked.

The update resets the rear controls to AUX source (which is basically off) when the system is started. Since most people barely use this feature, it was a cheap fix for people leaving one of them in CD and getting confused why it's running even if the head unit is off.
