Does anyone know if its possible to make all of the window switches in the LR3 'one touch'? I am not sure if this is a software tweak or if the 'one touch' window switch is actually different. Any insight is appreciated!

I've got a 2005 LR3,

And had some major surgery on my left hand. It was nearly impossible to unroll windows this summer. Mostly because the only window that had auto-roll and unroll was the driver's. So I asked the dealer about it and they said they'd check into it.

The dealer took apart the entire switch and looked to see if it was possible to set up the auto un-scroll for the all the windows. Apparently the 2005 switch is different from the 2006+ models. The driver's switch clicks on the 2005 which allows the auto un-roll.

So I then asked if a switch from a newer LR3 would work, but those are completely controlled by a computer and cannot integrate with a 2005. The dealer even had a east-coast Rover rep take a look at the whole thing while it was apart and said it wasn't possible.

Bummer ehh....

That sucks. I would have thought it was just the mechanical switch (which someone posted here was a little bigger). So, swapping out an entire '06 switch assembly for the '05 would do the trick. Yes...bummer.

2006 should be the same as 2005.

The "click" feedback was removed from the driver's switch when they made the passenger window one touch, too. So, that's after 2006.

Does this mean that its possible then? To change out the non-automatic switches with automatic ones? I read angasreid's comments above, could it be that he was given bad info? Thanks,

No, not possible. The switches really have little to do with the function.

Yeah, this is a drag. Surprised LR changed from a switch based control to a computer control on the same model. Weird.

even on my '05 i'll occasionally get the windows to do wierd things. for instance, i'll be putting the window on auto up...and i'll hit another button in the car for something else and the window will stop halfway up, or come down an inch from the top. just a harmless gremlin that pops up occasionally, not always repeatable, but funny. somewhere there are connections crossed...
