has anyone had a leak at what i belive to be the transmission cooler line that is just below the upper radiator hose [steel ridgid line] there is a little coolant that ****** out at startup but i dont see dripping after i stop later on... just at start up and idle in the drive for a few minutes..... can i drain some coolant and clean the threads and put some plumbers tape on and tighten back down????
this will be my saturday project as it will be a balmy 20+ degrees -Andy

Andy,
It would be a good idea to gently remove the line and inspect to see what is leaking. I don't understand how you could be leaking coolant at the transmission cooler line unless there is a crack in the radiator at the fitting?
Let me know what you find?

mike, I am hoping the seepage/drip is from the threads and not the fitting itself, I will find out in the morning, thanks and will let you knoiw -A

Mike-

well this morning I drained some coolant, pulled the top transmission cooler line and the thin brass nut that sits right up against the wall/face of the radiator was loose, so some thread sealer and tighten her back up and now no leaks when cold or hot... and it was a balmy 38.... a heat wave, made working in the garage very nice, why would it leak coolant from there you ask, there is a water jacket around the lines in the radiator -Andy
