That dynamat looks great. I didn't think of applying it to the plastic door covers, clever.

I was thinking to install a JL Audio 12" sub in a removable enclosure, but I can't find the link to it anymore. JL Audio gets redirected to Garmin and then they don't show their $2k subwoofer drivers anymore. But some of their drivers were high quality and with 600+ AMP monoblock powering it, the LR4 would hit pretty hard. It might even blow the windows out lol.
Thanks @powershift,

And do let us know what your thoughts and progress would be regarding the audio upgrade. I have seen a couple videos of folks doing speaker upgrades or apple ICar/IPlay stuff but haven't really thought about that aspect of things for myself yet. Basically, the factory sound system set-up has been working good enough for me and I am focused on other projects for the truck (largely around power train, suspension, braking system and then drive belt system stuff like A/C, steering, brakes, etc). So lots of other stuff to do but maybe the sound system would be worth looking into someday and folks inputs and experiences would be most useful!

I know @Tapps33 just did a massive MOST upgrade which included the sound system. All I can say is that he is far more ambitious in these things than myself.........

Any thoughts on your monitor upgrades (like carplay)?

To the tribe,

Any inputs or lessons learned for dynamat in doors (or on flooring and wall / body panels)?

Does dynamat on the door cards (inside - metal facing) help?

Sound deadening / heat transfer reduction ongoing... Doors without door cards below - starting point for the doors.

Stage 2 for the inside of the doors (except the one which we will get to soon).

What are we missing?

I planned a Car PC to run my apps. I don't have a need for carplay or androids version atm. What I'd like to do in this area when budget allows is to fit a permanent Lifepo4 battery pack to run a computer to host my web based apps for overlanding. But I could also plug in my refer too.

I've had a similar Car PC setup before but used a laptop (lid closed), a small external touch monitor on the dash, custom software, audio over Bluetooth and the inverter ran off the car battery. With that setup I could explore around the West and figure out where I am, where to roam, camp, etc where I have a right to be. The app had google maps and a place marker to identify where I was on the map with a bunch of overlays, data points and such.

Android google maps won't let me use google maps it in the same way, the maps app limits the map updates to only when I'm on a route. I want to upgrade that previous setup I once had for my LR4. The monitor I'm getting the Lilliuput https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...put_fa1019_t_10_1_touchscreen_industrial.html and I already have an Asus i7 tiny PC. Small box and has a lot of power.

Very Cool idea @powershift !

Thanks for your comments and this project would certainly deserve a threat on its own - I would like to see that in operation!

Good luck and keep us posted!

If you're going to run skid plates, I notice a decent amount of transmission noise on my setup. Probably wouldn't hurt to put a little dynamat on them as well.
Thanks @scapistron !

Good idea and we will take a look at adding the dynamat for the heavy bumper / frame sliders as well as the skid plates (I have something like 4 of those down there not including the frame sliders which are also bash plates [Tactical 4X4]).

Any thoughts on where to place the dynamat on all that stuff?
