I recently saw a question from someone about locking gas caps, and a response that the LR4 Fuel Door itself was locked by a pin that engages the door whenever the vehicle was locked. I wasn't aware of that so I went to my 2015 LR4 and checked. Nope - Fuel door opened easily while the rest of the vehicle was locked. I can see in the fuel latch area where there could be a PIN exit a hole which would engage a stub with a hole in the Fuel door (see pics). So curious now if this was an option, mine is broken, or JLR stopped installing it by 2015 due to malfuntions?

If it should be there, what is the best way to access it for replacement, and does anyone have part numbers?

EDIT - BTW , I'm not concerned about theft, rather thinking something may have gone bad and needs repaired/corrected. Or a PO had removed due to an issue. And saw it mentioned in the manual.

The Brits are more trusting? Mine doesn't lock either and haven't thought about it until now. But every other modern vehicle I've owned had a release from the inside, much like the hood or hatch releases. I worry more about the latch mechanism breaking and not gaining access than theft.

hmm, around here i would be way more concerned someone might cut off and steal the catalytic converters instead of the fuel

Not installed on NAS LR4s. In some other markets, I believe there was an actuator installed - part # FSG500030
