After smelling burnt coolant, I found some coolant pooling in the engine crevice that can be seen from above; and is under and behind the thermostat (as seen in attached picture). I'm thinking the thermostat housing is the likely culprit; but, can't confirm without a part removal project. What else might deposit leaking coolant in that area? ***It's not the bleed valve up above as that's already been swapped out and no evidence of coolant leak other than what's seen in the photo. I'd appreciate if anybody has any ideas on the best way to proceed as I like to give a try at a DIY fix if possible. Thanks!

I would change out your whole thermostat housing, also your belts if you haven’t done them yet. I just did this a couple of years back. I kept losing small amounts of coolant and had dried up coolant in the exact location. I have 194,000 miles currently and still running strong. Knock on wood.
