With all the rain in the Seattle area I can not believe that drivers do not turn on their headlights. Can you not tell by not being able to see the other cars/trucks on the road that we probably can not see you !

Tests have been shown that having Day-Time-Driving-Lights accidents are reduced by +65%.

I had Land Rover program my headlights to come on when my 2005 LR3 is in gear.

How about just leaving the headlight switch on "on" position? That way, when the car starts, the headlight will come on, just like the day-time driving light does.

Actually, "on" leaves the lights on even if there is no key. The auto-off happens when the battery dies. :)

And don't forget the lovely chime... ;)

Can LR actually program the lights to be on while in Drive mode? And would that be the same way the canadian versions are programmed from the factory to have the day-time running lights?

Yes. That's what we are talking about! (See posting 1.) It's a legal requirement in Canada.

Sorry about my wrong suggestion. I found on my truck that leaving the switch at "on" position after removing the key will still have the parking light on, along with the lovely chimes. So yes, the auto-off will happen when your battery die.........
