Hello all

I'm new on this and I have a Defender 110 hardtop 2001.
I'm trying to understand why my rear door lock doesn´t work anymore.
the key just goes clockwise and anticlockwise without locking or unlocking (manual lock)
Does anybody knows if this is a problem with the lock itself or just the cylinder of the doorlock ?(sorry but i'm not English so I'm not sure if cylinder is the name of the part)
basically i mean cylinder as the place where we put the key on

I was trying to make the first subtitution by myself but I'm nt very confident about this

Is there a place with some simple maitenance instrucitons/manuals for these simple things?

Thanks for your help:confused:

Sounds to me like the linkage may have gotten disconnected. I would open the door panel and check for loose or disconnected parts.

Not sure if the Defender is on the RAVE or not, but I would download it either way... it is the Land Rover Repair manual listed in my signature it is about 500meg so it may take a while to download but worth it.

thanks I just did it but found no loose linkage. It seems like it is the problem but some inside part is missing. I think I will have to buy the entire lock as they don´t sell those small parts

tnx
