Intermittant failure opening the doors and start the engine

I do have a challenge to you all. The Landrover workshop guys have not been able to solve the problem: So now it is up to you, please.
I have a 1996 Disco I
The handset (fob) usually works perfect, but then suddenly, when parking trying to lock the doors or when trying to open the doors after parking, the fobs does not work.
I can open the doors with the door code but I cannot start the engine because the immobilizer has not got the right info from the theft alarm.
After moving the car or after waiting suddenly it does start again, and may work without problems for days. parking in the same spot is no problem (i.e.: no interference from radio transmissions) And then normally under the worst conditions (full car going on holiday or in cats-and-dogs rain it does not work.

The LR guys have tried replacing the radio receiver part, the fobs, almost everything Nothing works - until the Disco decides to be kind again. It has by now spent almost three months in the workshop.

So it is not interference, it is not week batteries in the fobs.
Sometimes (but could be coincidental) it happened more often in burning sun (I am speaking about 30 degs C plus) or in wet weather.

I have given up as have the LR guys.
But I think it should be possible to ground the starting solenoid and bypass the blocking of the fuel pump, so I could start the Disco when it is in bad moods. But how?
No, i do not want anyone to give an answer in the forum, but if there is anyone out there that knows the answer I beg you to give the answer to my workshop guys so they can implement it.

As it is I do not dear to use the car because suddenly i am stranded in nowhere.

Please, I am on the verge of crying........
Thanks.

Does it work correctly if you just use the key in the door?

You say you open the door with the door code? Not sure about this option on a '96 or any other year for that matter, is this an aftermarket item?

No, unfortunately if it does not work with the remote it does not work at all. The door code is an emergency code which stops the alarm from going off when opening the door and at the same time it is supposed to make it possible to start the car. The alarm stops but I cannot start the engine. It is an original feature.

starting issues factory options

The only other rig I've ever had this problem is on my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee
and the only way to bypass it is buy opening the passenger side door first with the key this disables the fuel pump bypass. The only way to fix the problem on my Jeep that I traded for my disco is REPLACE the fuel pump. It has something to do with your pump going out and your pump relay and your pump shut off not communicating with each other when the pump goes bad.

1996 Disco acting weird follow up

I think I solved the problem, the antenna for the receiver in the car steering the whole alarm was not good enough.
Landrover has sent out a modification for the antenna meant for the US, I did the mod and voila.. Everything works.
To be on the safe side, however, I have put in a double relay on top of the immobiliser and a hidden switch so i can cut it out if things go wrong again.

(Pity the guys in the workshop did not listen to me when I suggested problem with reception of the signals from the hand unit and read their modification sheets. In stead they kept the car in the workshop for almost 4 months!)
