New to the forum but have viewed it for a year without signing up. I always lean on it for advise. Big to-do and searched endlessly for a solid answer. Bought my 01 used changed all fluids but the trans and I am verging on 200K (120,000 miles roughtly). Have service records up to 60K and yes original drain and filter was done at the stealership. I have bought the new filter/pan kit but need solid advice on what to do. I have seen so many posts that conflict.
1) Nothing and drive til issue
2) Drain some and add a conditioner (suggestion)
3) Just drain and fill with new fluid no filter
4) Drop pan, replace filter and fluid
Cold winter is coming and its my daily driver, I will be driving the kiddies to the ski hill often and want the tank to keep on truck-in.
Any thought would be appreciated, glad to be a member finally.
