i had a problem with my v8 99 disco II about 4 months back, and never got round to figuring it out, and the car has been parked since, i am now using the vehicle again and the same tapping noise is still there, the problems are as follows,
when engine heats up there is tapping noise from passenger side of engine, there is black oil on the bottom of the manifold-Y pipe,
after driving the car and then turning it off there is strong smell of burnt oil
if the car is in neutral the exhaust smoke is fine at idle, when u rev it up to about 4,000rpm it starts bring out black smoke,
any ideas??
im in egypt and the landrover dealer here is clueless, so want to see if i can sort it out myself
