I have heard that the Disco5 is excellent off road...

There doesn't seem to be too much activity on this board and I haven't seen any off-road posts or pictures of your trail-hardened Disco5s.

So if you have them, please share them! Would love to see the new Discovery with whatever racks, sliders and winches you guys are finding out there.

Unfortunately I don't have many photos. I have a young family and I don't get to wheel as often as I'd like. But my first time taking the D5 on an off-roading/camping trip involved hauling my AT Overland Chaser trailer up this steep hill with stock 275/45R21 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. There was no struggle getting up this hill with my fully loaded trailer. The Terrain Response 2 system is really amazing. I'm looking forward to many more trips with my Disco 5.

It’s not my rig, but I saw this one at work. It’s not actually ON the trail, but apparently has been on some. I was impressed.

Here in Australia it's not called a D5, simply "Discovery". Sales here are shocking!!. No serious off-roader
can consider taking one on the Canning stock route or any of our other serious outback tracks. By all accounts it can do it no problem - terrain systems are same as on D4's, BUT no aftermarket accessory company makes a bullbar for it (yet!) no rear wheel carrier to enable an auxilliary tank to be fitted (yet),
I haven't seen a snorkel on one yet. Compomotive in the U.K. are now producing an 18" rim for the current Discovery, so at least the best all-terrain or mud-terrain rubber can be fitted.
It is still the butt (no pun intended!) of many jokes regarding the styling - that arse-end is VILE!! Nobody
wants to replace their D3 or D4 with one. It seems that 90% of the Discovery's sold here now are only
used to take the kids to their expensive private schools, posing amongst the Q7's, X5's & Cayenne's.
With most D4's now out of warranty - or close to it, we are seeing more & more with bullbars & other good off-road gear fitted & often covered in mud or dust. My D4 is now 4 years old & has an Opposite Lock steel bullbar, Kaymar rear wheel carrier, Brown Davis 110 litre aux. tank. My new Compo 18"'s will have BFG KO2's next month (the original German made Wranglers are now at 44,000 kms and will see out their final Summer), Safari snorkel & rock sliders to come in coming months.
All LR fans here are hoping that when the Defender replacement finally arrives it is basically a D4 utility vehicle - something that actually LOOKS like a real Land Rover. Then Discovery can be consigned to the urban-cruiser set along with RR Velar, Evoque & Range Rover Sport.
