Hello fellow Rovers. So I have this new little issue where my tailgate does not open sometimes. It varies from time to time sometimes it does not open by the clicker, sometimes it does not open by the button on the back of the tailgate. The other issue that I have noticed is that it does not go all the way up. Is that normal. I have not had the pleasure of hitting my head a couple of times on the corner of the tailgate lol, it hurts like hell. Does it need to push all the way up because I’ve noticed that I can push it a little bit more up. But the main issue here that I’m having is that sometimes the tailgate opens and sometimes it does not, is this a pre-warning that the mechanism is about to go or that the tailgate shocks per se are losing power. Thank you to everyone for the advice ahead of time it is greatly appreciated.

I've had a similar problem - replaced the hydraulic struts (which were failing and hence bootlid drooping) but now the tailgate won't open fully when instructed by key fob (other switches are fine). Local mechanics scratching head as not an electrical or wiring issue - perhaps software?

Any suggestions would be great.
