I purchased a set of magnacore wires from offroadtuff, and now that Im back in the country I tried to put them on. It looks like the coil side is a different size that the originals on my 99 disco II.
Do I somehow have to put the white ring on the originals on the magnacores or did they maybe send me the wrong wires.

The standard part # for the Disco II is RC80242, this also fits the D1 except 94 - 95. (94 - 95 # is RC80196)

This number is for the 8mm wires.

As per Rover connections Web Site

I Ordered the 80242's, They seem really loose on the coil though, and there is no snapping sound when you push them on like on the originals

If it doesn't feel like they fit well, call Magnecor up and ask what they think... But I would say that since they have sold alot of these that they sent you the correct ones. But I guess it is ultimately your call.

When you push them on they should afford some resistance and feel tight. I think that perhaps you should have ordered the 1999 4.0L wires. I would contact the place you purchased them from and change over your wires.
