hey everybody i have a 99 D2 with 100K so far . i've owned it for 2 years and nothing every happened . i actualy bought it in seattle and 2 days later moved to maryland . it didnt even say ouch on the straight 3000 miles trip . anyway something came up lately . as im driving sometimes , the car shakes a lil bit when its switching gears . i noticed it happens when i come to a sudden stop then hit the gas again . as its switching lower gears it hesitates for a second and does some shaking . it happens like once or twice a week . i didnt notice any warning lights or anything else at all . is this a sign for a more serious prob down the road ? or nothing to worry about ? also i have never seen one single drop of oil or antifreeze under the car b4 i drive off to work in the mornings . but one day i leaned under the car and was checking out the undercarriage and i saw a couple of drops of oil in the bottom of the engine , yet nothing ever leaks . its obviously very minor but where would they come from ? if anyone has got an idea pliz lemme know . thanks !!

I would check the front driveshaft for play (they don't come with greaseable U-Joints D2's) could be an early warning sign that you are in for some issues.

I would also check the Transmission fluid level to make sure you don't have a low fluid issue.

hey joey and thanks for the reply . i checked every single type of fluids they are all good specialy since i serviced it a couple of months ago . im gonna try seafoam ive read a lot of good things about it on this forum maybe it will stop it from shaking . its not that bad really it just does it like once or twice a weak . as far as the mysterious oil on the undercarriage i turned the car on and leaned back under the vehicle in broad daylight with a projector . absolutely nothing . just those few drops sticking in the bottom . i guess at 100K miles a car prob leaks a lil here and there . . .

At 100k, if the drive shafts have not been changed I would look into that.... cheaper to change them now, then after they come apart and take out the Transmission.

You can remove them and take them to a good machine shop and have them install greaseable U-joints or just buy good ones. It all depends on what you do with your Rover and how long you plan to keep it.

lol if u saw my disco u think it would be ready for the PARIS-DAKAR rally . i plan on keeping it another 2 years . man i spent so much on accessories for this baby and it only goes to work and back . never offroad . come to think about it i guess im stupid for buying those yellow front and rear diff guards and steering guard from atlanticbritish.com lately . im gonna take it to that independent land rover shop that i know and im gona ask them to do what u recommended . i just wana make sure that its gonna last me those 2 years , then its an LR3 ...
