Just dropped off my HSE for a couple of things to be fixd. Service manager told me that he is going to perform a recall for the air compressor, I mentioned that mine is 06 and shouldn't have any compressor issues. Also, I really haven't had any issues with the suspension at all. But he said that they would look into it anyway and he also said that its for the front suspension compressor. I thought there was only one compressor per vehicle. On the work order its listed as "Do B034 AIR SUSPENSION FAILURE". Should I just tell him not to touch anything following in the tradition of this thread' title...

I thought there was only one as well but who knows. Anyways, maybe the "recall" is related to the package of updates: "Vehicle Enhancement", as one of the issues addressed is the compressor. From what I gather, they replace the compressor *If necessary*, check the ingress/egress valves, and update the software. If yours is working great now, consider it as preventative maintenance.

I'd be wary of this, Amir. If it works...why take it apart and back together? I'm living with the infamous speaker rattle because I don't want the door taken apart.

...then again, I'm not sure what I'm experiencing is anything as bad as others have complained about.

dawg, do you have a new compressor? Mine works fine, but I noticed that the '06 at the LR Exp. really moved fast (compared to mine).

The new compressor I received recently (with all the new "software") is less loud and somewhat faster to load the tank. It was my first failure, though... so I had the very first design.

Had a new compressor installed 8/05. Worked great for about a month. Then the faults came back. They then found and replaced a restricted "inlet hose". Had the suspension faults on and off ever since. Really hoping that the new updates and/or compressor will help. I've also noticed that it always sounds like it's working. If I'm in a drive-thru lane for instance and have the window down, I hear it nonstop....

Speaking of speaker rattles, yeah I've got that, too. Supposed to replace the passenger side and now, I've developed a "crackle" from the driver's side speaker. Though I can see your point about leave well enough alone. When they took the door apart to dx the problem, they left something inside and I can hear it rolling around sometimes when I decelerate or come out of a turn. But, stuff like that shouldn't happen...

The compressor I received is an even newer design... newer than the one you received 08/05... along with software changes to support it.

compressor thing its listed as a separate item, independent of the "vehicle enhancement" bullet point. Just checked my VIN, and it does fall into the range. I want to upgrade the compressor/suspension stuff but GOD I really hope that it doesn't open a up can of worms for me. So far the suspension is working fine. I have been using it daily (access-to-normal and vice versa) for getting in and out of my low height garage here in LA and no probs so far.

Compressor Replacement

My compressor (compressors?) on my 05 LR3 SE7 (took ownership 12/04) provided me the amber light of joy on the way home from vacation in the Canadian Maritimes a couple weeks ago, after a week of driving backroads.

We called every LR dealership within 10 miles of I-95, north of NYC, and LR-Metro West in MA fixed it on my way from Canada to NJ. They had it done in less time than a game of Scrabble.

No problems in the short time since. And, as I think Grommet suggested before, the car seems to adjust a lot faster than it did before. The height change is now very noticeable (which must be the speed of the change, I can't imagine the heights are different now).

Grommet,
Thanks, good to know. I'm cautiously optimistic that my suspension woes are (soon to be) behind me...

This is why I am living with my speaker rattle too...
