I have a '99 Disco II and I have had strange things happening with my auto-locks on all four passenger doors.
When locking the doors with either the fob (keyless entry), manual (drivers side door), or the lock button on the dash all doors lock at their own rate --they all used to lock together at once. Now here is where it gets weird, the rear passenger door stopped working with the keyless entry but will work by the other two means, though it is slow to unlock. Yesterday, it started working again but often takes two or three depressions of any of the three afore mentioned ways to open. Shortly after the rear passenger side door started working again in the "keyless entry" mode, the drivers door will not lock or unlock the door (using the exterior lock manually is the only way to lock/unlock the drivers side door). The other three door locks will unlock but like I said they open at staggered times. The rear cargo door is unaffected. (Fob battery has been replaced, and problem has been duplicated with another key).
Question: Does anyone know if there is a "central locking component" that controls the locking and timing or if all locks operate independently and it is just a fluke that they are all just acting up at once?
