I recently bought a '95 Disco with 164K miles and in addition to the other problem I've already posted about I'm curious about the amount of slop in the driveline.
A mechanic friend says some is to be expected with this kind of milage but I've got a feeling what I've got is to much.
When I get on or off the gas you can definitely feel the play in the drive line and when I put the tranny in reverse there is a definite clunk.
Any thoughts and any suggestions on how to adjust out some of this play.
I know that when I'm under the car I can rotate the drive shaft a little while in park. I don't know if the diff, tranny or the transfer case is stopping the rotation.
Any and all suggestions apprciated.
Thanks
Eric
