According to my wife, while she was backing out of the garage it some how it bit off the mirror. Hmmm. Well actually it broke the mirror glass not the whole thing. So I purchased mirror and now I need to figure out how to get the old one off. Can I get a little help here?

It just "pops" out. Try putting a large screwdriver blade behind the glass and gently prying. It is on a spring-clip mount.

I bought the European left side heated mirror glass for my LR3 in order to get the wide angle effect. This greatly reduces the blind area. Had the same arrangement on my DII for several years.

Tell us more about this wide angle mirror? My superduty has one normal mirror and one concave mirror below it and I love it!!

My wife has a story about her clipping the mirror too. When she was about 16-17 she was feeding her 4H steer with her dad's pickup. Where she fed the steer was on top of a hill, and you had to go down the driveway, thru a cattle guard and then back up the other side to the barn. She was traveling a little too fast and snagged the cattle guard with the passenger side of her dad's truck. For some reason, this made her hysterical. When she got back to the house, still laughing, he sister asked her what happened. She replied "I clipped the mirror on the cattle guard". As they went to survey the damage, which is something my wife (to be) hadn't done yet, they realized it was a little more serious than clipping the mirror. The mirror was gone and there was a gash starting at the mirror and running down the cab and most of the bed. There were even tears in the sheet metal in places as well. To this day, she gets a hard time about "Clipping the mirror" when describing any vehicle damage.
