It will only go down intermittently and up works all the time. When the window is up and you push the switch up you hear the moan of the motor, but when you push the switch down you hear nothing. Eventually down starts to work again – once or twice, the stops.

I changed the switch – no improvement. I took off the door panel and disconnected the motor switch and put a tester on the power that comes from the door jam. The results were as expected, up had power every time and down had power intermittently.

Last year I did the re-solder fix for the rear windows and I replaced the window regulator on the drivers door because the plastic roller broke. This one has me stumped.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Intermittent power is normally corrosion or broken connection somewhere. Since you have ruled out the plug, I would check the ground connections (even though this is showing up just on the down and not the up). I would also crack open the box and check all the solder joints in the same location as the rear windows.

Just an update to anyone that may have this problem in the future. Resoldering fixed the problem. Thanks for the tip.
