I got a new rotoflex from discountbritish. It came with some sort of a seal that goes inside of the rear of the rear driveshaft.
The problem is that I can't figure how to get the old one out.

So no one out there knows how to effectively remove this thing?
Or do I even need to worry about replacing it.

You need to replace it. You'll need heat, though, to expand the metal on the outside. Then use a chisel and hammer and anything else you can find to beat it out of there.
