Engine Code (P2187) Mass AirFlow Sensor - 2015 RR Sport

Does anyone have experience w/ this engine code? Engine Code (P2187) Mass AirFlow Sensor - 2015 RR Sport. 80,200 miles.

Seems like a simple fix to do myself versus taking to dealership.

Is it possible it is the spark plugs?

The P2187 OBD-II fault code means the vehicle's on-board computer has detected a lean fuel mixture at an idle in either Bank 1 or Bank 2 (the side of the engine with the corresponding number on the cylinder, if applicable). A lean fuel mixture means there is an excess of air and a shortage of fuel.

If you're not experiencing any effects from this lean fuel mixture conditions, then it's probably just a sensor failure. A computer diagnostics may be able to show this if you have a way to do it outside dealership.

 

[Rover Range]

Could be a ruptured diaphragm on the PCV valve. Located on the right side valve cover.
Definitely not a MAF sensor DTC.
A smoke test should be done to properly diagnose the air leak.
