Greetings. I went to the dealer to get my new LR3 TD V6 SE Friday. I drove the car for 5km to the first gas station for filling it and when I stopped I noticed a smell of burnt rubber and a faint white smoke or vapor from the back of the engine. I called the dealer and he said that maybe the smoke comes from some grease or lubricant that spilled on the engine. I continued my trip but after some 5km, while I was traveling at 80km/h a blip sounded and a message on the dashboard appeared: Engine System Fault. I stopped, looked in the manual and immediately called the dealer. He said that I can continue the trip but without going over 100-120 km/h and visit him Monday. I was very intrigued by the smell and now the recurring message so I returned to the dealer where I arrived around 3PM. Here the car was taken into the service and I waited until 5PM when I was told that they are unable to identify the failure and that the car must remain in the service. I left the dealer in a cab... As the 11th was a Friday and they weren’t working on Saturdays I'll have to wait till Monday. I don't think I ever heard such a story, even with a Lada... I'm very dissapointed and in serious doubt about this car's reliability...

Sorry to hear about that... and I can't believe on the day you pick it up that the dealer couldn't give you a loaner....

I finally got my car yesterday. It seems it was the turbocharger - they replaced it with the one from a demo car...
