I have a 1995 Range Rover 4.0 SE, it runs great but last week the check engine light turned on and this last tuesday it just "bogged out" on the freeway, I had the fault codes checked and it returned with a P0727 Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal. the guys at the shop have not been able to pinpoint the fault , my question is, will this cause the vehicle to just shut down in the middle of a trip? has anybody had this experience before? if so, is this an easy fix?any information will be greatly appreciated... thanks

When you say it booged down, I am wondering if it felt like it ran out of gas, but then it started running again?

If so and this happens again, switch from Drive to 3rd, if the issue goes away, you VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is bad.
