Hi,

I have an '06 LR3 and I need just got a "coolant level low" warning. I bought some 50/50 coolant (Texaco) and I was about to add it to the reservoir when I noticed the little sticker on the tank showed a no green coolant picture... the coolant in the tank is orange... do i need to get orange coolant? The manual does not talk about this specifically...

thanks

I think the owners manual indicates a recommended coolant (but I haven't looked to verify). But more importantly, the Coolant warning is possibly a fault with the sensor in the tank. It's a very common item. there has been a TSB out on that for a long time now. Tell your dealer and they will swap it out and top you off free of charge.

Orange

Orange Extended life coolant is the coolant to use, otherwise the "extended life" and other properties of the coolant are compromised.
However, Nwoods is correct. The only time I've seen a genuine low coolant issue is when someone forgot to top off the tank after replacing it...
Go Figure.

Coolant sensor fault

The float sinks to the bottom of the tank, causes the low coolant warning. Ours has this at the moment, haven't taken it in for that.

Been a great truck since buying it in January.
