Help on removing the hitch receiver from truck

I can't for the life of me get the hitch receiver REMOVED from my truck. I have the key, and the receiver is locked onto the truck. But I cant get the key into the lock. Just wont go in.

Also -- when its locked on the truck, is the red bar supposed to be showing ? Or just the green handle?

I guess I'm also not sure what the red bar is supposed to mean???

Any tricks?

Ive had that prob b4 also and what I did was squirt some lubricant on it and bam! then pull the handle out and twist counter clockwise... hope it works

that worked - needed lubricant

I sprayed a wd-40 type of lubricant in the keyhole. Inserted key, worked first time. Wow. Thanks -- shocked something that simple worked.

kool glad to help fyi u gotta chk it erry once a while cuz the lube can get gritty from road hash and clogged so... refer to Landy owners manual
