I just traded my Porsche for a 96 Discovery. I figured it would sell faster than the Porsche. I have one too many cars. The problem is that I really enjoy driving the Rover but have been warned by several friends that they have many problems and are very expensive to maintain. This Rover is very clean and seems to run great. I could use some opinions from Rover owners. Thanks! Gary

Welcome to the forum.

I hope the Porsche wasn't worth too much... not saying a Rover isn't, but a 96 Rover is worth around $1500 - $3000 depending on condition.

Rovers can be great running vehicles with little or no issues, or can be maintenance hogs, it depends on how it is maintained and what day of the month is was built.

My 97 Disco has not required more than basic maintenance in the 7+ years I have owned it. Not counting off road repairs (i.e. just broke my Diff Lock pin off roading and need to replace some steering parts)

It also depends on if it has ever overheated, but this is the case for a lot of cars.
